WELCOME TO MT. HOREB ICS
Welcome to Mt Horeb International Christian School. We are a small Christian weekly boarding school for children who are 10 years and above. Being a small school allows us to have a much more affordable tuition than most boarding schools. We also can work with each student, one on one! Smaller schools may not be a great fit for everyone, but some children really do benefit from being in a smaller school. With the rapid changes in our society, it’s becoming harder and harder to live a clean, Godly life. Internet technology opens many doors to entertainment and activities boys can easily access, and blur the line between what is right, and what is wrong. At Mt Horeb your child will have the opportunity to focus on what’s important in life. Our goal for children enrolled at Mt Horeb is to help them become Godly, upright young adults. We believe that a consistent daily living schedule can help your child learn to make the right decisions. Some children simply need to learn the love of Christ. Some need a more concentrated effort on getting caught up in school. Some need to learn the importance of respecting others and themselves. And some just need a change of environment separated from the negative impact of internet addictions, and harmful relationships. Whatever your case may be, please give us a call. We can discuss whether or not your child would be a good fit into our school. If your child is not a good fit, we will refer you to some other schools.

A.C.E stands for Accelerated Christian Education.
A PACE is a booklet that contains content found in a conventional style text-book that has been
broken down into small, bite-sized study material containing self-instructional activities that help
the learner comprehend and master the subject content.
Learners begin their day by setting their daily goals which are basically the number of pages
they are able to do within that particular subject PACE as guided by the proposed number of
pages per PACE for their grade. They then plan how much time they are going to accord to
each subject so as to achieve these goals and at the end of the day, the learner goes over their
goals with their learning centre supervisor to make sure they have been achieved.
PACEs contain self-instructional activities that are carefully designed to help the learner
encounter and understand academic content on their own with minimal assistance thereby
developing thinking skills and enhancing mastery learning.
In the event that the leaner experiences difficulty in comprehending the content at hand, we
encourage asking for guidance as A.C.E emphasizes mastery-learning which can only be
achieved by proper comprehension of the study material.
A learning centre is a designated room where we conduct all academic and some in-door extra-
curricular activities. These learning centres contain individual study carrels called student
“offices” which offer privacy, minimize distractions and permit students to focus on their
academics.
Our school day begins with devotions at 8:00am for 30 minutes and then learners begin their
PACE work at 8:30am. The school day ends at 3:00pm and then the learners are able to go into
the different extra-curricular activities available.
ACE is evaluated by the International Certificate of Christian Education (ICCE) which awards
certificates to the learners.
The ICCE is a baccalaureate-style programme offering four exit qualifications i.e General,
Intermediate, Advanced and Honours certificates. The academic certificates build upon each
other and should therefore be completed sequentially (i.e. each certificate becomes the
prerequisite for the next level) and each certificate requires special requirements to it.
